891 days

For the last two weeks we've had a "sick house".  After five COVID tests, all negative, we are thankful it wasn't COVID but whatever it was I hope no one else gets it.  Very bad cold/flu.  We are on the mend.  I guess we felt worse when we had to cancel so many lunches, dinners and one birthday party.  After staying in for COVID for so long, when you can finally meet friends and have to cancel it's disheartening.

It's been 891 days since a cruise ship docked in Canada.  Yesterday Holland America's Koningsdam docked at Canada Place.  It is sailing to Hawaii then returns to sail out of Vancouver to Alaska for the rest of the summer!  She's a beautiful ship.

In 20 days we board the Royal Princess to Alaska at Canada Place.  We decided to stop living in fear, but be smart and live.  I've been searching the boards and can't find anyone blogging live on the Royal.  I checked and we are on the Royal's first sailing since COVID.  The ship will be pristine and the crew will be happy to get back to work.  We will take masks, Lysol wipes and hand sanitizer.  We will follow all precautions and if we get COVID, well, we get room service, a balcony with a view and the four walls will be different from home.  It's time to get back to a safe normal.

I found a Princess Patter from a recent cruise on the Discovery Princess.  It's doing a California Coastal cruise.  It will reposition to Seattle in May when she starts a 7 day return Alaska cruise.  We board her on June 26th!   She's brand new and I am really looking forward to this cruise.
