Day 7 - Hubbard Glacier

When we booked this cruise we knew it was early May and the weather would not be pristine but it hasn't been too bad.  Today, the most scenic glacier and our weather is amazing.  We can't get too close to the glacier because there is so much ice in the water.

Sitting in the International Cafe with Donna and Winston.
Cec and Winston played crib and Donna and I watched as we entered Yakutat Bay!

Because of the thick ice we aren't too close but that's to be expected in early May.  We sat on our balcony and enjoyed the view.  We both unzipped out winter coats!

The people next door were hoping to see a bear on the beach but I think they will still be in hibernation as it's still cold up here.  We left Yakutat Bay at 5 PM and are headed south to Cape Spencer on our way to Glacier Bay.  The park rangers will board the ship at 6 AM so it will be an early viewing.  Looking forward to another glacier day and if the weather holds, it will be a spectacular one.  It is sad to see the glaciers recede as we've been coming up here for the last 25 years.  The pictures we have tell the story.
Leaving Yakatuk Bay
It's was a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day.  It's the first time I've never spent it with my daughter, but we celebrated with a lovely dinner before we sailed.

Last night in the theatre we saw Anthem and Aria, Psychic Soulmates.  We saw them on America's Got Talent in 2020.  This ship has entertainment for everyone.

Today at 6 AM we are scheduled to arrive at Barlett Cove where the park rangers are expected to board.  I'll be sound asleep, but at 8 AM, we may be up to see the entrance to Queens Inlet.  From 9:40 - 10:40 we will see Margerie Glacier and at 11:20 to 12 noon we will see Lamplugh Glacier.  We depart Barlett Cove at 3:30.  Another scenic day!
