Day one

We arrived at the Port of Vancouver and it took one hour and 45 minutes to reach the ship.  The problem isn't Princess, but the Port of Vancouver.  There were only two ships in port and it will be chaos when five ships arrive.  I really hope they get their act together before the seasons gets busy.

I would love to post pictures but the internet speed is .3 right now!  We've been to the internet cafe and we have Princess Plus that includes one device.  I thought it was one device per person, but it's one device per room.  I would pay for 4 devices, however, the Medallion app just keeps loading and my battery on my cell phone that normally lasts a long time is draining in half a day.  Hopefully they will fix the internet speed.  If I don't post, it will be the slow internet and I will post daily if the speed increases.

We had lunch at Alfredo's and it was delicious.  We normally go to the dining room, but by the time we go, on it was closed.  Dinner was really good.  Food tasty and waiters very attentive.  We all had different dishes and everyone was happy.  We asked for a central ship restaurant but they changed us to the aft restaurant.  There was hardly anyone in our area which was quiet and made us feel safe.  There are hand sanitizers everywhere and probably 80% of the people are wearing masks inside.

We saw a terrific Canadian comedian, Simon Cotter.  The theatre at the 9:30 show was 1/8 full.  No problem social distancing,  Lots of entertainment in the bars and Piazza.

Capacity of the Royal Princess is 3,560 passengers and we have 1,648 passengers on board with 1,000 crew.  When we arrived on board, the crew greeted us in a long line clapping.  Everyone says welcome back and they are so happy to be working again.  They were all lined up and made us feel so welcome.
