Elisabeth's Chalet has been in Cloverdale for over 30 years. We love Elisabeth's and the previous owners were a lovely European couple. Elisabeth passed away a few years ago and her husband kept the restaurant going. We would go to Elisabeth's for special occasions. The schnitzel and spaetzle were delicious.
Last year the restaurant was sold and the Elisabeth's sign went down and the Indian Food sign went up. We never went back. They told us the Indian cuisine didn't go over well and then the Indian restaurant sign was replaced by Elisabeth's European Cuisine sign!
We've been back for dinner and the menu and dinners were exactly what was served for 30 years! They must have kept the cook!
Yesterday we went for lunch. I planned on schnitzel and spaetzle but they offered us a special summer lunch menu.
Lunch is $14.95 and if you read the bottom, you get a glass of German beer for free! We both had the seafood crepe with fruit and Caesar salad and it was delicious! We really enjoyed the beer.
If you want a delicious lunch, go to Elisabeth's! It never disappoints.
