We woke up to blue skies and a very calm sea. It's a day at sea with lots of activities. We started with Trivia. We met two lovely ladies from Toronto and with a full room, we won! We received a coveted Princess notebook. Much better than the champagne that they give away.
I haven't posted too many lunch/dinner pictures. Every day they have a theme. It was English day in the dining room. We went for lunch and here's the menu:
When I read the recipe for The Coronation Quiche a few months ago I wasn't impressed. I ordered it and it was delicious! Thank you King Charles.
I have never heard of Eton Mess so I ordered it without knowing what it would be:
Eton mess is a traditional English dessert consisting of a mixture of strawberries or other berries, meringue, and whipped cream. First mentioned in print in 1893, it is commonly believed to originate from Eton College and is served at the annual cricket match against the pupils of Harrow School.
I enjoyed the meringue, raspberries and cherries but left most of the whipping cream as it was pretty rich. It was very good, I'm not too fond of whipping cream.
Of course they had a "special beer" and I really enjoyed it.
We had a wonderful dinner of rack of lamb with a lobster starter and chocolate tart to finish.
Dinner was followed by a fabulous performance of "Bravo" by the singers and dancers. The voices were perfection. The opera songs brought tears to my eyes they were so well sung. I have said my favorite Princess performance is "Rock Opera". I've changed it to "Bravo" because this performance was the best I've ever seen at sea. I don't know who is training and choreographing these shows, but they are the superb. I've sailed from Carnival to Crystal and Princess Cruises has by far the best theatre performances!
After the show we went to the game show "Majority Rules" and it was hysterical. After another 50's and 60's music trivia. The cruise staff are all in their 20's and 30's. They got the music off Spotify, The room was full of baby boomers. They had grey hair and knew all the songs and the performers. When they played "My Prayer" and everyone screamed "The Great Pretender", it was pandemonium. One of the cruisers found The Great Pretender on her phone and the poor gal who created the game was embarrassed. You can't fool baby boomers. We knew all the songs but had trouble remembering the singers/groups.
