Goodbye Hogtown, hello Bytown

On Friday night Toronto traffic was busy.  The Blue Jays were playing as well as the Toronto Argonauts.  The CN Tower was lite up in blue, in honour of the the Toronto Argonauts.  Unfortunately they lost their game to Montreal.

The photo was taken from our room at the Chelsea Hotel.  We had a lovely room on the 23rd floor.  We didn't see the Argonauts or the Blue Jays but watched the Edmonton Oilers play hockey in the Stanley Cup.

We boarded our train to Ottawa at Union Station after lunch.  It as a nice train ride.  We chose business class.  We enjoyed the lounge before and the train seats had a lot of legroom.  Our train had wi-fi which was a surprise because they said it wouldn't be on our train.  They served a hot lunch; we both chose the chicken.  It was delicious.  Our train was delayed by 20 minutes waiting for other trains to pass.  When we checked in at our hotel in Ottawa, they told us the earlier train from Toronto delayed 2 hours and the people were really crabby!  Good thing we chose the right train.

We have a tour of the parliament buildings today.  Tomorrow parliament is in session.  I'm not sure if that's why our senate tour was cancelled.  I hope we can sit in the gallery and watch a session.

I received this email on the train to Ottawa:

We regret to inform you that your visit has been cancelled due to parliamentary activity.
