Day 10 - Maui

We had a nice breakfast watching the ship dock.  We've all been here before and didn't want to do a shore excursion.  Cec and Laurie didn't want to go ashore.  Julie was told there was a free bus to a mall, so Julie and I headed out.  There was no bus only taxi's.  I looked at the mall that was a 15 minute walk from the ship not that we would walk it, but there were cabs and I could also order an Uber.  The mall had very little in it, no stores we were interested in.  We came back on board and had a wonderful swim.  It's always nice when the ship docks and you stay on board because there are very few people on board and it's quiet.

After a delicious dinner, we went to the show that's earlier than the usual time as they are having a deck party.  The Checkerboard Guy is performing.  We got to the theatre early and he came and spoke to us!
He gave us those cards to keep as souviners!

He told us he just flew in from Victoria to Maui today!  He lives in Shirley, BC.  It's 57 KM west of Victoria.  He's been doing juggling and magic for 40 years.  I asked him what his favorite cruise was and he said "I did a cruise with the Bare Naked Ladies on Carnival Cruise Lines".  In spirit of the band, they said you could come with only a bath robe on to the pool deck for a party.  He took his 6' unicycle and dressed only in a bathrobe.  They played and at one part asked anyone who wanted to take off their robe.  He said "all the robes came off, including mine and I was riding my unicycle"!  After a lot of laughs, people were having problems finding their robe with the room keys as robes were everywhere!

His show was excellent.  He was funny and really had the crowd cheering and clapping for all his magic tricks.  He was quite the comedian and the show was really good.  All the other headline entertainers left today and we have a new set of theatre acts.  Princess has an excellent team that books entertainment.  That's why we keep sailing on Princess!

Here is a snippit of his performance:

Santa Letters

Last Monday we had no Santa mail.  Everything we received the week before was done.   Then on Tuesday, the mail started flooding in.  There ...
