Last night they held the Elite Captains Circle Cocktail Party. We rarely attend these. We didn't this cruise because it was at 5 and 7. We would miss our dinner reservation and the production show if we did. I really didn't care. We didn't want 5 PM dining, but when we were able to get a 5 PM reservation at a private table for 2 by a window, we took it! I also found out many people lost their dining reservations, it wasn't only just us.
This morning at Breakfast, we sat with people who did attend the Elite Captains Circle Cocktail Party. The Captain made a great speech. He talked about the fishing net that was caught in the propeller and explained how they had to wait until they got to Honolulu to find divers to remove it. He also told them about an impending huge storm in the Pacific. I found this picture online and we are the blue dot:
Instead of sailing in a diagonal line from Hawaii to Vancouver, we are now on an easterly straight line to North America. We will get close to San Francisco and then turn north to Canada. The Oregon coast could be quite rough. If it is, we could be delayed arriving in Vancouver. I hope not for all those with flights booked! That's a good reason to book Princess EZ Air. If we are late and you miss your flight, they rebook you at no charge. The seas are pretty calm for the North Pacific right now.We played Progressive Trivia and Ty, the crew member who does this trivia, was walking all around making sure no one was using their phone. One lady said "we are watching the Blue Jays!" Yes, they were but they weren't playing. Another group said they were watching the game too. However, they are the ones with the perfect score and he kept on walking by them and watching. He started the Trivia by saying "this is for fun". Our team is getting a respectable amount of right answers but we get our share of wrong ones. We are having a lot of laughs and a good time. We started out last, however we have really improved and are in the middle somewhere, We don't care as we've teamed up with a lovely couple from Edmonton and enjoy Trivia every sea day.
Dinner was Steak Diane and it was very good. After dinner they had the Checkerboard Guy again and he didn't disappoint. He is very funny and a good juggler. Before the show, he came into the audience and spoke with people in the audience.
After his show we went to the Universal Lounge and watched the Marriage Match. We've seen these game shows on every cruise we've been to and they never disappoint. Cruise Director Andy did an excellent job of emceeing it.
