This beautiful photo was taken by Laurie at sunrise. I'm glad she took it as I wasn't up this early!
It was a lovely morning. Calm seas and warm air. It's nice to see so many people sitting out by the pool. We had breakfast in the dining room. Thanks to the one more hour sleep we got last night. We sat at a table of 8, couples from Tsawwassen, Langley and Vancouver! We talked about what we were going to do in Hawaii. One lady is going to clean graves in the cemetery! She volunteers with a world wide group who keeps up the graves of World War I & II soldiers who lost their life in the war! In Vancouver, she goes to Ocean View and Mountain View Cemetery. They take a before and after pictures and a location. If the grave has been "cleaned" before when she goes to the cemetery she knows exactly where to find it. She will leave the coordinates for the next volunteer. When she travels, they tell her where to go and she will "clean" graves! She is cleaning the graves in Honolulu of fallen soldiers.
We took part in morning trivia by ourselves and then met Julie and Laurie for lunch in the buffet. I managed to get a window table. This ship's buffet is forward (or as I call it, the pointy end). Our table was right at the front on top of the bridge! What a great view. Lunch was tasty and after lunch we met our friends from Edmonton at Progressive Trivia. Yesterday Julie didn't come. It was our first trivia and we came last. Today we told Julie we needed her. Julie is a genius and today we got many more answers. I said "how did you get so smart"? She said "when I had my children I put one volume of the encyclopedia in the bathroom". I said "that was a fabulous idea". She said, "we only had one bathroom and sometimes I had to shout, close that book and finish up"!
We had our first ukulele lesson. We couldn't get in the first class as it was full. We were totally lost as we didn't get the basics, but we have the manual and will try to get some practise in before the next lesson. Julie got private lessons from Ambassador Kamaile.
After a delicious dinner we went to the theatre to hear Alex Yost, the country singer. Before the show the Cruise Director announced the Blue Jays won again. The ship holds 2,000 and over 1,500 are Canadians! The crowd went wild. Then they played the Blue Jays song. I didn't know they had a song but many did and sang along. Alex Yost was very good and the crowd was very lively. Some even got up and danced. A great way to end a wonderful day.
