Day 8 - Honolulu not Kauai

The Koningsdam docked beside us today in Honolulu

Another lovely day in Honolulu.  It's very hot and we've decided to stay on board and enjoy the ship.  They just revised the Princess Patter and they added a lot of activities.  Our friends at trivia from Edmonton told me about a Facebook page for this cruise.  I found it and I joined it.  My husband said when the violent shaking was going on that it could be a fishing net caught in a propeller.  We owned a few boats over the years.  As I was told it was an engine problem, I believed that.  Others were told 'the wind', and 'the stabilizers'.  A member of the Facebook page, posted this picture and a detailed video yesterday that now proves, it was a net in the propeller.  I'm happy the engine is ok!

There is a video that shows a huge amount of net being taken out of the water!  I can't show the video but here is a picture they captured of the net removed from the propeller.

We decided to stay on board today as they changed the patter and added a lot more activities including open dining in the Bordeaux dining room at lunch.  Very few people were there.  We asked for a shared table and got a table for 6 (no one else joined the four of us).  We sat with Monica and Lorne.  Lorne lives in Oceania Parc along with my friend Jean!  They know each other.  What a small world.

After lunch they showed the movie "The Life of Chuck".  It was based on a book written by Stephen King and had an "R" rating.  You heard profane language but no sex or nudity.  The story and acting were excellent.  In 2024, it won the Toronto Film Festival's Peoples Choice Award.  A very interesting film and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Toronto Blue Jays are playing the Seattle Mariners in the American League Division series.  It's not shown on TV.  I sent a text to crew chat and they said "if it isn't on TV, we aren't showing it".  You would think with more than 1500 Canadians on board, they would purchase the right as we have a lot of sea days and there are a lot of upset baseball fans.  I expected better from Princess!

The Company Men were our entertainment.  They were a first class act!  Their voices are so harmonizing.  They sang many songs from Motown and did mashup.  It was another excellent concert!
