Cheryl and Dave did the tour to the Guinness Storehouse |
Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland, is on Ireland’s east coast at the mouth of the River Liffey. Its historic buildings include Dublin Castle, dating to the 13th century, and imposing St Patrick’s Cathedral, founded in 1191. City parks include landscaped St Stephen’s Green and huge Phoenix Park, containing Dublin Zoo. The National Museum of Ireland explores Irish heritage and culture.
Today it’s 19C and so pleasant. We took the shuttle to downtown and then boarded the Hop On Hop Off bus. Two hours of great music, commentary and scenery. The city is very clean. There are floral baskets everywhere and they are colourful and gorgeous! Great transit system, lots of double decker buses and they have light rail transit.
Our tour was two hours and we went by St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Guinness Storehouse and Trinity College to name a few of the sites. I have a lot of pictures but I’m only putting a few on my blog. What a great day! Tonight, we have local folklore entertainment we are really looking forward to seeing.
Tomorrow Liverpool!
