Here comes the Arctic front!

So far this winter we've had pretty mild weather.  We've had some fierce wind storms and a lot of rain, but cold weather hasn't happened.  It appears from the Satellite tracker we are getting some cold weather.

I don't rely on the 14 day future forecast but if it's correct, snow is coming our way around the 25th of the month.  If we get snow, Cec will be really happy!  In the fall I bought a snow blower.

I remember when we had weather ships!  They were stationed off Vancouver Island from 1949 to 1981.  Weather ships were intended primarily to support aviation by providing surface and upper air weather observations and navigational assistance as well as potential rescue for downed aircraft.  They were replaced with satellites!
