Day 5 - Snæfellsnes National Park and the surrounding Peninsula

Yesterday we did another tour and went north to the Snaefellsnes peninsula.  We were picked up by our coach at our bus stop.  We were the first passengers on the coach so Lexie got a front seat with a great view!  We had a wonderful lady driver.  Our tour started with a bang.  Our tour guide was backing up and we heard a loud bang.  Not sure what she hit, but the window in the back shattered so we went back to the depot, got another coach and picked up the rest of the people.  It was a small coach, just 14 passengers.

The tour was 600 KM and we would be gone from 8 AM to 8 PM.  A shorter trip than yesterday, but a great itinerary.  The views were amazing.   We started out by seeing the "White Wall" from Game of Thrones.  It wasn't white as there was no snow, but Cheryl watched Game of Thrones and was thrilled.

The Sky Princess is anchored in the harbour

The pictures show the true beauty of this gorgeous country.  The people all speak English and it's been an absolute pleasure to return here.  Tomorrow we fly home and I will be sad to leave.  Our weather has been very good for July in Iceland.  The temperatures were from 12C/54F and we had a high in of 16C/61F,  When we were on the Southern tour out guide said the bus read 22C/72F when we were going through a small town enroute to the glacier.  He said that area of Iceland never gets snow!

Goodbye Land of Fire and Ice!
