The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 75th Anniversary 2025

In 1990 and again in 2019, I attended the Edinburgh Tattoo.  I really enjoyed the show and every year BBC broadcasts the performance.  I've always found it on You Tube.

This year a friend whose parents who immigrated from Scotland to Canada many years ago booked a cruise out of Edinburgh in August!   When I spoke to them I asked if they wanted to go to the Tattoo.  They weren't familiar with it and I talked them into going.  I contacted "Glory Days" in Edinburgh and arranged their hotel and got excellent tickets for them.

I have a friend who moved from Vancouver to Calgary when Pacific Western Airlines relocated in the 80's.  She was born in Scotland and came to Canada when she was young.  She was always very involved in highland dancing in Alberta.  Three years ago she decided to move back to Scotland and lives in a little town close to Edinburgh.  On the day my friends had tickets for the Tattoo, my friend in Scotland put on Facebook, "I have an extra ticket for tonight's performance, anyone want to come with me"?  If I only lived closer!

That afternoon, I got a picture and text from my cruising friend who attended the tattoo:

Linda, we have had such a great time in Edinburgh and the Tattoo was amazing and emotional!  Thank you so much for helping us get tickets.

Every year, You Tube offers the BBC Broadcast.  The 2025 Edinburgh Tattoo performance that was filmed for viewing across the UK was just posted!  I watch this feed every year.  2025 was the Tattoo's 75th anniversary and the best show I've ever seen.  Here is the link if you want to enjoy the performance!  If you have You Tube on your television, it's best to watch on a large screen.  Enjoy!
