The Lord Elgin Hotel

I picked this hotel in Ottawa as it was very close to the Parliament Buildings.  It has so much heritage and the rooms are awesome.  We got a king size bed.  Our room was smaller than average but they have a lot of power outlets, a marble bathroom and a huge television.  It's a gorgeous hotel!

The restaurant at the Lord Elgin had normal prices!  At the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto we had an early tour to Niagara Falls and breakfast was a buffet, that is fast and it was good.  I'm not much of a breakfast eater and the bill was $76.00 for two!  We found a Denny's for the next morning that was okay.  Eggsmart half a block away from the hotel was fabulous and the waiters were a hoot!  Both mornings we were at Eggsmart the owner asked how we liked our food!  I love mom and pop restaurants, but I didn't see a mom.  Just a pop who was really dedicated to his business.

We had a lovely visit in Ottawa.  I got in an Uber yesterday and said "take us to the train station"!  If you watched Yellowstone, you would understand.  If you didn't watch Yellowstone, ignore it, but I had a good laugh.  I miss Yellowstone!

We took Via Rail to Kingston.  Nice ride, much shorter than the ride from Toronto to Ottawa.  We got another hot meal and great service!   In Kingston we are staying at the Holiday Inn Lakeside.  The room is huge with a nice view!  We've got a Keurig, bottled water and we couldn't find the remote control for the TV.  There was a QR code on the TV screen, linked the phone and our phone is the remote control!  That's a first and much nicer than bagging the remote control!
